The Prophet (saw) was once asked: “What is Qurbani?” The Prophet (saw) replied: “It is the Sunnah of your father Ibrahim (as). For every hair of the Qurbani you receive a reward from Allah (swt).” [Tirmidhi]
Qurbani is the act of offering sacrifice of an animal to Allah (swt) on Eid-al-Adha and is one of the obligatory acts of Hajj. All Muslim adults who are eligible to pay Zakat make the sacrifice. Muslims all over the world by Qurbani commemorate the Prophet Ibrahim willingness to sacrifice his son for Allah. Muslims observe Udhiyah/Qurbani by sharing meat with the less fortunate people.
Since 2019, support from Turk Kizilay enables us to spread the joy of Eid Al Adha! Give the gift of Qurbani to the needy people in Pakistan. People who receive meat may include orphans, widows, the elderly people, people with disabilities, sick and poor people. We are always try to choose the beneficiaries mostly from refugees and disaster-affected people.
It is not their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah: it is your piety that reaches Him: He has thus made them subject to you that ye may glorify Allah for His guidance to you: and proclaim the Good News to all who do right.
To organize the Qurbani Program successfully following activities are planned and executed;
- Survey to identify most vulnerable and needy families
- Issuing meat delivery slips
- Purchase of animals fulfilling all Islamic requirements
- Proper handling of animals (security & health)
- Coordination with concerned stakeholders
- Arrangement of transportation and slaughtering within three days
- Preparations & logistic arrangements (Banners, Cameras, Vehicles, residence of volunteers, butchers etc )
- Slaughtering on Day 1,2,3 in presence of Turkish volunteers and distribution of meet among poor beneficiaries
- Monitoring and record keeping
- Reporting and evaluation
