Training on Effective Leadership and Management of Development Organizations

SESRIC in collaboration with The NGO World Foundation (Institute of NGO Leadership and Management) organized a training on “Effective Leadership and Management of Development Organizations” which was held on 02-05 May 2017 in Islamabad, Pakistan. The main aim of the training was to strengthen the leadership and management capacities of the development organizations and NGOs based in Pakistan.

SESRIC and The NGO Word under joint initiative OIC-NGOs Academy arranged a capacity building workshop for NGOs on Effective Non-profit Leadership & Management as a side event for the NGO’s representatives participating at the “International City and Civil Society Organisations” Summit (20-22 October) at Yıldız Technical University 2010 European Capital of Culture Congress and Culture Centre, Istanbul, Turkey. The Summit was organized by Esenler Municipality in which delegates from 60 countries participated and a total 35 sessions were delivered. The training gave participants the opportunity to learn valuable skills on how to respond to the huge challenges and prospects of running a nongovernmental organization. Experienced trainers delivered sessions on different topics including;

  • “Effective Nonprofit Leadership”, Dr. Mumtaz Hussain (Ass. Professor, Karachi University)
  • “Social Media for Impact”, Mr. Zafar Iqbal (Executive Director, The NGO World Foundation)
  • “Effective Use of Technology for Nonprofits”, Dr. Zafar Qadir (Chairman, Taaleem Foundation)
  • “Sustainability of Organisation”, Mr. Murat Oyar (Manager, Türkiye Diyanet Vakfı): The OIC-NGOs Academy is an initiative that aims to build capacity and strengthen professional networking among the non-profit organizations from OIC member countries and to prepare them for better service of their target communities.
